Background

Although M&M Engineering began trading in it's current form in 2022, the story really begins in the late 80's when Ian ran a business called Macleod Marine. Starting as a one man operation it quickly grew to a business supporting MOD installations and repairs and being a main agent for Bauduoin Engines. Ian and his team were eventually travelling the length and breadth of the country working directly with manufacturers like Gardner Engines and Capital Marine Gear. The team would take on a range of engineering systems from mechanical, electrical to fabrication and installation. Eventually the business was wrapped up following a change in personal circumstances.

Fast forward a few decades and Ian has teamed up with his son Craig who has spent the majority professional life in the field of engineering. Starting as an apprentice mechanic he returned to college and switched to a career in the oil industry. After a number of years working internationally he got married and settled back in Stornoway, taking a senior management position responsible for the local LPG plant. 

What started as a partnership has quickly developed and as of the 1st July 2023 we have incorporated into a publicly limited company.
