We’re looking for motivated and ambitious individuals to join our rapidly growing business. Due to high demand we have a need for potential future engineers to join our business.


 

Located in Stornoway, the successful candidate will join our team and through a combination of on-the-job learning and classroom based teaching, will ultimately gain industry recognised qualifications and competencies.


 

There are no age restrictions on the apprenticeship and the company is considering applicants of all ages.


 

The ideal candidate will bring the following skills and attributes;

  • A keen interest in the nautical industry and, in particular, the function and purpose of marine equipment.
  • Motivated with a positive attitude towards learning in-depth about mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems.
  • Good communication and comprehension skills.
  • Show strong critical and logical thinking.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • The ability to work individually or part of a team and follow instructions.



 

On completion of this apprenticeship the successful candidates will hold the qualifications to maintain, fault find and repair marine diesel and petrol engines, propulsion, electrical and hydraulic systems.


 

Remuneration package will follow the national apprenticeship pay scale. On completion the candidates will also have access to incentive based bonus and loyalty focused profit share schemes.
